Hello, friends! I'm Shawna, the founder of Minx Lacquer. Thank you so much for visiting!

I would love to tell you a little bit about myself and what inspired me to create my own nail polish brand.

 

I have always loved mixing things. As a child, I was most likely to be found outside collecting, grinding, and blending wild plants or inside reading books about witches.

I was fortunate to have supportive parents who encouraged their nature-loving, mini witch-in-training. My mom and I bonded particularly over a book called Little Witch; Mom was excited to pass a book on to me that she herself had loved as a child.

The heroine of Little Witch is a young girl named "Minikin" ("Minx" for short) who loves experimenting with potions and their effects. The book culminates in the classic, "good overcomes evil" trope and is thoroughly enjoyable.

This childhood favorite has always stayed close to my heart and its heroine is the inspiration for my brand name. Minx Lacquer, as a brand, is intended for the bright-eyed, curious, mischievous, little witch/wizard/magician inside of each of us.
 

I fell in love with indie polishes in 2017. They were so much more special than mainstream polishes and I loved the community!

As someone who has always been obsessed with mixing/creating, I soon realized that I wanted to make my own nail polish. I finally took the plunge and started tinkering with nail polish making in February 2020.

It didn't take long for me to realize how much I love creating nail polish; I have spent time nearly every day since then honing my craft.

I am a perfectionist, which is why I spent almost two years testing my products to make sure they are as perfect as possible for you! I truly want to offer the best products to my customers; this is my passion. 

With all of my heart, I hope that you enjoy my nail polishes (and other goodies) as much as I have loved making them.
